WATCH: Quarterback Legend Terry Bradshaw Turns On Trump Over National Anthem

Breitbart

On this week’s broadcast of “Fox NFL Sunday,” co-host and former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw discussed President Donald Trump’s criticism of NFL players for taking a knee during the national anthem at games.

Bradshaw said, “It’s hard to believe I’m going to say something about the most powerful man in the greatest country in the world. I was somewhat surprised that the president came out attacking NFL players for them exercising the freedom of speech. While I don’t condone the protest during our national anthem, this is America. If our country stands for anything, folks, it’s freedom. People die for that freedom.”

He continued, “I’m not sure if our president understands those rights, that every American has the right to speak out and also to protest.”

Bradshaw added that Trump “should concentrate on serious issues like North Korea and health care.”

NFL Rule For National Anthem Found On Pages A62-63
“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.

“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

TERRY BRADSHAW -I”VE ALWAYS ADMIRED YOU AND YOUR HONESTY AND BEING FAIR !
JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO TAKE A KNEE – DOES NOT MAKE IT RIGHT
to do it ! THE LORD GAVE US ALL A BRAIN, TO USE IT WISELY !
THESE FOOTBALL PLAYERS ARE NOT BEING WISE MEN NOR GODLY MEN !

Terry Bradshaw you just threw the flash in the garbage. The NFL players had no right to make a point during the football game. For your information, I’m sure that President Trump is very up to date on Korea. You don’t have to worry about him doing his job properly. I think the whole NFL group is worried about hurting in their wallets including the sportscasters, owners, players and yes even bookies.

Mr. Bradshaw, I beg to differ with you on rights of freedom. This is not freedom of speech! This is disrespect for the symbol of the great Country of America and at 82 yrs old and living thru different times of war starting with world war 2, this makes me furious and if you can go against America finally having a President that loves her and just because you ran around on a football field you can make a comment like this is sickening. This bunch of no bills kneeling on the field disrespecting MY Flag and My National Anthem would have been declared traitors in my day. That old dollar is behind the owners and the players. I do believe the Bible talks about the love of money. Thank God for that one great American player yesterday that stood for his Country that he fought for.

…it is NOT the protest we are complaining about, it is the disrespect to our country, flag and to those of us who made the ultimate sacrifice to have this freedom that YOU and your unpatriotic, ungrateful, overpaid cronies are enjoying in our wonderful country. There are a lot of us who will make you regret your actions by boycotting your industry and hurt you in the valet.

I think Terry Bradshaw is a idiot. Everyone has the right to protest but not at their place of employment. You and everyone that stands with these idiots need to go to a hospital that our servicemen and women are in and see their sacrifices that were by them so y’all have the privileges you have. You are all disrespectful, not the President, he is speaking the truth. They all should be fired.

And the president has a right to free speech. He was representing the feelings of many people. Terry is just toeing the company line to keep the checks coming.

We as Americans have a right to free speech however mr Bradshaw I beg to differ with you. If I was a waitress and I didn’t agree with gay marriage but a couple that was obviously gay set in my station, what do you think my boss would say if I choose not to wait on them? I can tell you he would tell me that I was being paid to wait on all his diners. Just like your buddies who are being paid while they are taking a knee, I am offended for all the men and women who have no knees to kneel on since they fought for our freedom to free speech. those players are overpaid and obviously unsympathetic to our soldiers and their families who have lost so much. I pray that The NFL will take a stand for our soldiers and fine these spoiled men heavy and donate those huge fines to our wounded soldiers… how’s that for free speech!!!

Our president stands for the freedom of all Americans. Maybe if the NFL followed its own rules and regulations this wouldn’t be an issue! Most of the NFL fans have either served or have family members that have served our great nation. This protest is a slap in the face to everyone that loves the USA! Im protesting the NFL! No games will be watched in my house until all team members are standing!

Why can’t everyone who objects to the lack of respect for THE AMERICAN FLAG stand up and disown those who
decide to do so publicly in a “I have to pay foamy hard earned money to be insulted and made to watch this blatant show of disrespect? Don’t sugarcoat these actions by talking about rights. Stand up against this disrespect because
IT’S THE. RIGHT THING TO DO. YOUR GRANDPA WOULD TURN HIS BACK ON YOU IF HE WERE HERE.

If protested anything at work my employer would have every right to fire me for it no questions asked. When they step onto that field they are at work they are working for the people who pay to watch them. They can protest all they want on their own time not there not representing me and mine They do not have THAT right. I believe in their rights heck I served four tours defending that right. If they had served they would understand . Try taking a knee in the military see where your rights are and are not.

Mr. Bradshaw, those people are hired to entertain their “fans” by playing a game called football, not foolsball. They are not hired to show disrespect of this nation. If they don’t like it, they should go somewhere else.

WITH DUE RESPECT, I DISAGREE WITH MR. BRADSHAW. I FEEL THAT IT IS MY OBLIGATION AS A U.S. CITIZEN TO HONOR MY COUNTRY…TO HONOR HER FIRST AND FOREMOST BECAUSE SHE EXISTS. BECAUSE SHE EXISTS, I EXIST. SHE GRANTS ME RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS BECAUSE SHE EXISTS…NOT…BECAUSE I EXIST. NOT TO HONOR HER IS A SIN AGAINST ALL WHO WERE WOUNDED AND ALL GAVE THEIR ALL SO THAT SHE WOULD CONTINUE TO EXIST. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS OUR FLAG. GOD BLESS HER ANTHEM

Hey Terry , why is it so important for the NFL to have the National Anthem played at games? Why are they allowing players to display the personal and political views on the field? Everybody knows the guy that started this is just looking for personal attention!

They have a right to their opinion and the right to express that opinion on their own time. They do not have the right to hijack a national program for their own use and force their opinion on people who have a right to not hear or see their BS. The NFL is gutless and hypocritical. They have disallowed others the right to express their opinion due to NFL policy. I have ceased watching the NFL and have not missed it one iota. Somehow not spending hours watching overpaid, arrogant, low IQ fools play a kids game is refreshing.

    September 29, 2017 at 2:17 am

It is plain to see that Bradshaw has taken one too many on the head!! It is not about free speech, it is about respect for our national anthem, our flag, those who have fought and died for this great country in which we live. The players made it about the flag when they chose that time to protest. They could have played the whole game and all taken a knee at the end of the game. But not during the anthem and the displaying of the flag.

Damnit Bradshaw, you’ve been my favorite for years. Now you put your political views on display on a national stage! I am sick of people like you force feeding your crap because of who you are. I am a Vietnam vet and I don’t give a rat’s ass what your “rights” are, right is is right and WRONG IS WRONG. Disrespecting law enforcement, military and what this wonderful country stands for is WRONG! Keep your political statement to private conversations. This crap that players are doing is WRONG and YOU are wrong for using your position to spout your views to fans publicly!!!!

  25. Mark Allen Evans

    October 11, 2017 at 6:37 pm

Terry. Sorry you feel that way. Most law abiding Americans love this country and stand with our hands over our hearts during the star spangle banner and pledge of allegiance. If you believe our flag is the cause of your grievances. You need to pack your bags and find a homeland that fits your needs. Not drag everyone down to your level. Stand up or get out. That’s your only choices.

  26. Tom McCoy

    October 11, 2017 at 11:30 pm

Terry, you are right to advance their rights. My right is to not watch until they learn to respect the flag and the people who fought and died to keep it flying. If their rights are to be respected, so are mine!

I have given up watching these overpaid ungrateful players. They are disrespectful to my family members that served in the military.Indeed, one went so far as to say he didn’t need the fans that disagreed. Who does he think pays his enormous salary.

    Bradshaw

We are talking about two separate issues. One the freedom of Speech One about the disrespect to our country and our flag. If we continue to allow this kind of disrespect, to be justified as a freedom , then yelling fire in a theater. calling you a SOB and a thief, or pervert would be justified without any lawful recourse because it is my FOS.
Using this format as a freedom is wrong in my opinion. And should not be allowed.

Somehow, I do not blame Bradshaw on the stupidity of his comments (as an excuse, maybe he got way too many hit in his head) and I, once upon a time, out of ignorance, used to admire him.
He was a foot ball player, at a team that relied on studied, and practiced plays, all of which ought to be executed as planned. On desperate times, desperate measures are allowed (Hail Mary, as an example), but those are the exceptions to the rule. Discipline means to stick to the game’s plan. A wild player never lasts long on any organization plus, up until now, I have not seen any player answering his cell during the game (that promotes the “freedom of speech that you claim we all have the right to). It is against the rules, and any player surprised doing it, is fined, and should his behavior continues, ‘released’.
We, the fans, pay to get entertained, for paid entertainers to spill their guts in the field, not their -stupid- ideologies and beliefs. Should all of them were so “disgusted” with the system, this type of protest would had begun a log time ago, and none of those sheep would have wait for a “leader”.
Bradshaw, once upon a time you were a lucky QB (Elite you never were), then you made a spot, for yourself, as a goof ball on TV, stay within your comfort zone. I dare you to, every time you are on TV to “protest”, let us see for how long the TV Executives allow yo to keep on doing it.
Everything with measure, and in the correct place, and in your time.
America is, indeed, the one and only place on hearth in which we all can do as we please but Bradshaw, that does not mean there are no consequences to our actions, dumb arse!
