BREAKING: Anheuser Busch Responds To “Boycott The NFL” Protests

The numerous “Boycott the NFL” movements have gained a tremendous following within the span of about a week — so big, in fact, that major corporate sponsors are now listening very closely to what ticked-off fans are saying.

Anheuser Busch has gone as far as hinting that that they’ve considered all possibilities when it comes to responding to angry football fans who are made at the NFL — including possibly pulling their multi-million dollar sponsorship?

Daily Caller reports:

Amidst the national anthem protests, one major sponsor is considering pulling their product from the NFL altogether: Anheuser Busch

The popular beer company is letting the public decide whether they should terminate their relationship with the NFL. This weekend, the beer company set up a hotline to get a better sense of what the public really thinks about the recent wave of protests.

Over the past couple of weeks, more than 150 players have refused to stand for the National Anthem. As a response, fans have been burning jerseys, throwing away season tickets, and game day ratings have plummeted.

Fans (or former fans) are angry. The hotline received such a high volume of calls that it crashed on Friday afternoon but is back up as of Sunday night.

The hotline greets fans with a brief statement:

If you are calling with questions or comments about Anheuser-Busch’s sponsorship of the NFL, press one. At Anheuser-Busch we have a long heritage of supporting the nation’s armed forces, veterans and military dependents. The national anthem is a point of pride for our company and for the 1,100 veterans that we employ. Please feel free to share your feedback after the tone.

Anheuser Busch also released a statement this weekend.

At Anheuser-Busch we have a long heritage of supporting the institutions and values that have made America so strong. That includes our armed forces and the national anthem as well as diversity, equality and freedom of speech. We proudly employ over 1,100 military veterans and we work every day to create an inclusive environment for all of our employees. Because only together can we achieve our dream of bringing people together for a better world. We have many long-term sports partnerships, including our NFL sponsorship, and while we may not agree on everything, we still believe in the power of sport to bring people together and overcome their differences. Thank you.

Also, here’s the official “I Proudly Stand For The Anthem” t-shirt (we have hoodie and v-neck options, too!) that has part of the proceeds going to the National Coalition of Homeless Veterans!

Yes I AM all for peaceful protest.. yes they have a right.. but not when they are paid millions of dollars to play a game! Let them take their millions and fund programs to help and to teach!! It shouldn’t ever take a massacre to bring NFL football game to finally decide and stand, let alone any sports broadcasting.
Anheuser Busch, you have a great life with U.S history, and I, as 1 person would hate to see a down fall from this history for the books.
I feel that if you take away the value of the all mighty dollar from the NFL, that hopefully it will not just teach them a lesson of economic s, but as a person for the history books.

After the Las Vegas shooting and the unselfish actions by both on an off duty Police Officers, some from out of state, I would hope and pray that the misdirected protests iby those in the NFL against police become rightfully extinct. If it continues, all the more reason to not only boycot the games and NFL PRODUCTS BUT THE NFL SPONSORS AS WELL!

  14. Jerry Hart

    October 2, 2017 at 11:55 pm

Grew up in St.Louis drank Budweiser products all my life. Quit drinking their products and the National Felon League on TV first week of this season. When they refused to stand in London I as a100% disabled veteran said I will not buy any product from any company that has advertising on professional football.

800-342-5283 This is the number to Anheuser-Busch. They want to know how you feel about NFL players kneeling during the anthem and if they should continue supporting the NFL through advertisement dollars. With a quick push button survey it’s an automated system and ask if you are calling about NFL and you press 1 and leave a message! Let them know what you think. Feel free to copy and post.
    Make the call……I did!

You say a lot without saying anything or committing to a decision. Your stance has not varied. I didn’t realize that a decision to do the right thing was so time consuming. But when you measure it in dollars and cents, when is enough…enough? What price do you put on Old Glory?

  17. Stacy

I am not a beer drinker but a huge suppoter of our military. Something like this you can’t play both sides. I’d suggest you take a stand for our flag, our anthem and our military. Football players and the league have done this to themselves. Anheuser Busch… it’s time to step away from the NFL sponsorship.

    October 3, 2017 at 11:48 am

I am not a fan of football but I think the players behavior has crossed the line. I salute all Americans who stand for our country through the national anthem. No matter what we are all Americans and should stand together. You football players who cannot do that just leave our country. You have lost all of our respect.

  37. Morriss Moore

    October 3, 2017 at 12:12 pm

If they want to continue being “Americas Beer” they must pull all ads on any program that does not show complete and undying patriotism to this country, topping the list of patriotism is complete respect for the flag, the pledge of allegiance and honor for all people who wear a uniform to protect and serve this country!

  38. Al

    October 3, 2017 at 1:13 pm

Boycott Anheuser Bush until they stop NFL sponsorship!!

Boycott ALL NFL games Sunday November 12th (the Sunday following Veterans Day). Don’t watch or attend. Make and post videos of you burning your tickets and jerseys.

If you agree please copy & paste or share somehow to get the word out. The NFL is not the place to protest! I watch sports as a way to escape politics and now they rich thugs are ruining that!

America is speaking, as a great American Icon you should listen. The NFL thought we would never stop watching football over this. We ask you not to make the same wrong assumption. WE STAND FOR THE FLAG, WE STAND FOR AMERICA. We can drink another beer, may not want to, but we will.

  40. W. R. D.

    October 3, 2017 at 2:04 pm

I drink Bud and a proud Veteran but if they keep sponsoring the NFL and those whining millionaire crybabies I’m done with both. Send them to Canada they can play over there.

  41. Steven D. Kohrt

    October 3, 2017 at 2:20 pm

I have made up my mind that after that kapernick guy did not stand for our flag and national anthem that I would not watch any team that allowed their players to not show respect to our flag nor country. I have a list of teams I will not watch. I also decided that since so many teams and their operations have decided to go along with this disrespect that I will not watch any of these teams for a very long time. If their support comes with endorsements from companies that support this kind of behavior, well then I will not support that company. I used to drink Miller, then switched to Bud Light. I can easily switch back. The QUESTION is is Budwiser going to stand up for our Flag and Country or are they just going to sweep this under the rug and wait it out. Budwiser–ARE YOU A STAND-UP COMPANY or not??

  42. Mitch Mahoney

I grew up on San Diego, California military bases. It is despicable how the NFL breast feeds their crybaby players. I will not support the kneeling during our National Anthem.

I will not buy a product or service that supports the lack of respect to our hard-working police officers and our military personnel and their families.

Not only has my family and all of my friends shut off NFL football, we will no longer be purchasing 🍺.

I didn’t watch any football last weekend. It was great. I have so much more time to do what I want to do. Sitting in front of the TV for 3 hours watching a football game on TV is not healthy. Spending even more time and money to go to a game is even less healthy. Life is better without the NFL

It’s a little too little a little too late for Budwiser. Our Country means more to me than them or they wouldn’t make such a wishy washy comment. I have a big party this weekend & I always buy Budwiser not this weekend. You stand up for America or I wont buy your beer.

For the past 31 years I have been priveleged to have my home team go to the Superbowl 8 times and win 5 of them. Until my team finds a platform OTHER than their place of employment to air their grievances, and starts showing some GODDAMN RESPECT for our national anthem which pisses off far more people than they seem unable to comprehend, I’m DONE with the NFL. That punk ass bitch Trump t-shirt wearing, pants below his skidmarked ass poster boy of the league sealed the deal for me.

As a Veteran, I am disappointed in the NFL and there overpriced players disrespecting our flag, our national anthem, and our country by not standing for the National Anthem. I am not going to watch any football and I do believe any company that sponsors the NFL has a good chance of bad publicity being associated with them. I will definitely not any products from Anhuser-Busch until you stop sponsoring the NFL. I am very proud American and I hope you make the correct decision and drop your sponsorship.

  60. Wayne Irick

    October 4, 2017 at 2:56 am

I’m an avid Anhehser Busch consumer. I’m also an American vet. I would most certainly back your company to pull your ads from the NFL. I also believe in free speech, but in the right way. Not by disrespecting the flag or the people who faught to give you the right for free speech. Do it right!!

No Bud for me after many, many years of drinking Bud. I am a Vietnam Veteran and when you support the NFL and what the owners and players are doing, it deeply offends me. I have switched to Yuengling. Great flavor, Americian owned, oldest brewery in the United States. You sold out just like the NFL has

  64. Ruth McHugh

    October 4, 2017 at 3:23 pm

Anheuser-Busch is a great company, you have supported this country and all over the world with all the good works that you do. If you continue to support any function that does not support our country our flag or national anthem, or our veterans, Then I will no longer support you. The NFL is a disgrace for so many reasons. I wouldn’t think a great company like this would want to be involved with anything like NFL players and making them more money.

  65. Jet

    October 4, 2017 at 6:02 pm

I do not drink beer, however; I feel that those who support the NFL and those who would try to bring down our country are just as quilty as the ones that sit down during the Nat’l anthem and/or show any respect the flag and this great country that gives them the freedom to play football and get paid more then they are worth! Bud won’t lose my business but they will lose any respect that I held for their company.

We are talking about the disrespect that the NFL football players, managers and owners have for our Flag. These managers and players are paid big money to manage and PLAY football. The fans go to the games and pay big money for tickets to watch a football game not to watch the disrespect of our flag and the people who have died or been wounded so that these glorified overpaid football players or any sports players for that matter can showboat their own personal feelings. The media is a big part of this also, they play right into the hands of these show boaters. Sponsorships should be pulled from them also. It has to start somewhere pulling any advertisements will hurt the payroll and hurt the players and managers personal pockets. Americans are fed up with all this bull. Let us take a stand and boycott all those who disrespect our Flag and those who fight for our freedom.
