After 3-Hour NFL Meeting, A Sick Announcement Is Made About The National Anthem…

Yahoo Sports

A statement released jointly by the NFL and NFLPA called it a “productive meeting,” and that there will be another session in the future:

Today owners and players had a productive meeting focused on how we can work together to promote positive social change and address inequality in our communities. NFL executives and owners joined NFLPA executives and player leaders to review and discuss plans to utilize our platform to promote equality and effectuate positive change. We agreed that these are common issues and pledged to meet again to continue this work together.

As we said last week, everyone who is part of our NFL community has a tremendous respect for our country, our flag, our anthem and our military. In the best American tradition, we are coming together to find common ground and commit to the hard work required for positive change.

Eleven owners and 13 players were part of the discussions on Tuesday, which were held at the NFL headquarters in New York City. After the owners and players met, there was a previously scheduled owners-only meeting to discuss the anthem as well as other league matters.

Yahoo Sports reporter Charles Robinson, who is in New York for Tuesday’s meetings, wrote on Twitter, “Sounds like nothing definitive accomplished in meeting between players, NFL, NFLPA. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross sounded measured at best.”

NFL.com’s Judy Battista tweeted that the meeting was the “best the communication has ever been between players and owners,” though there was no final agreement.

Also via Twitter, Philadelphia Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins told Bob Glauber of Newsday that the meeting was collaborative, and that there wasn’t much time spent of the anthem, but rather more on ways the two sides can move forward on issues of social justice.

Continue the boycott. Convince friends not to watch these whiners until they understand who pays their salaries. We mush boycott the sponsors, ESPN and the other sport channels that broadcast NFL games. We the people don’t bow down to these thugs.

Tell our Government that we do not want to pay anymore of their tax breaks! It is truly not fair for us to reward them even more than we have been!

And we will just keep on boycotting. The National Anthem should be played at sports events, All players and staff should stand and put their hand over their heart for it, This is America and we will respect our Nation. Protests are to be held on players and staffs own time not on the fans time. I personally will continue my boycott until that is either accomplished or the NFL is disbanded or restructured.

This is the biggest B.S. and waste of time that we ever heard. I believe that the only way to reach these over paid, ungrateful players and owners is to boycott every game. If this continues maybe the NFL will see how much their players actions are effecting their bottom line.

    Social injustice? Inequality? Positive change?
Stop talking in riddles! The change Ive seen in the NFL is anything but positive.
The players want to help young black men stop promoting hatred of the laws and law enforcers. Start being an example. Teach respect for others and personal honor..
Start teaching personal responsibility instead of making excuses.

Any decision which includes any resemblance of disrespect to the country, the anthem or the flag – best be taken back to the drawing board. It isn’t gonna fly. What players – and owners – seem to fail to realize is the tremendous of damage you’ve done to the NFL, fans attitudes, and the future of professional football. I, personally, feel it’s permanent. Fans are gone and won’t be back. Attention has turned more to the college games which are still original and authentic. You had a good thing – and you blew it!

Continue the BOYCOTT. Standing for the national Anthem is not a hard decision. These players, coaches, owners and sponsors are spitting in our faces. They still don’t realize what the American people can accomplish when we stand together. And for those of you still attending games or watching on tv, you are standing with the players and disrespecting the police force, our service men and women and the American people.

Goofdell will not grow a set and keeps putting the NFL deeper in a hole. Shame on him, but I love the protest. NO NFL for me as it is taboo. I’d rather watch paint dry than the NFL. Bunch of whiney Prima Donnas. Think they can run the show but it will, and has started to come back and smack them in the face. SO LONG NFL!!! Do not miss you yet and WON’T miss you. College F/B is So much better and no bitter crybabies, and they respect the Flag and Anthem.

The NFL is dead. and they just made the final decesion. they once again are listening to the people of this country, they dont believe the fans mean anything and the just keep proving it, The NFL is dead, they have decided to go dishonoring our nation and those that have sacrificed for this country, they have joined the parade of disgrace, The NFL is dead good riddance,

The NFL has become so political now, the game isn’t even important. It’s all about social justice. The GAMES used to be a break from all the political stuff. So if they want to be social justice warriors…somebody else will have to FUND THEM…………………….BOYCOTT TO BANKRUPTCY!!

Just boycotting the NFL is not enough …..their sponsors like Ford and Budweiser also should be boycotted. If they give money to the NFL then they are anti-police/military/USA/flag and anthem. AntiFa style action against the sponsors/NFL is called for. Disrupt Ford dealarships and stores/bars that sale Budweiser. Pelt the Budweiser Clydesdales with bananas

People aren’t stupid and your Bullshit gutless solution is not acceptable to US who pay for the NFL to survive. We do not pay the NFL,players, owners, employees or sponsors to subject us to your agendas on anything but FOOTBALL.If it isn’t FOOTBALL related we don’t want to hear it.Spend your millions and billions on your own time promoting your social views. The American National Anthem and the US Flag are symbols to this great nation and for ALL who have sacrificed and served and continue to serve regardless of race, creed or national origin.ANY Disrespect of it is an insult to Americans and should not be allowed period !
